Newly married woman accused of disappearing after allegedly collecting first ‘ajo’ money to fund her wedding

A Nigerian lady who recently tied the knot has been accused of disappearing after collecting money from a group savings (‘Ajo’) to fund her wedding.

A Twitter user @mobolajitemmy went online to call out the newlywed, who got married barely two months ago, after she went incommunicado following the money collection.

According to @mobolajitemmy, the new bride, identified simply as Phoebe, took the first slot in the ‘ajo’ group and blocked everyone in the group afterward. It was also claimed that Phoebe’s husband allegedly carried out a similar heist in a bid to sponsor their wedding.

After being called out, the culprit deactivated her Twitter account and set her Instagram account to private to avoid backlash.

Interestingly, Phoebe appears to be unperturbed by the call-out as she took to Snapchat to state that she has no intention of clearing the air, and people should believe whatever they choose to.

She wrote on her Snap, “Thank you for your calls and messages, I’m not clearing up any rumours, believe whatever you want to believe. My people know me & know my heart”.

Mobolaji shared her response while reacting to a follower who defended Phoebe, stating that she would never do such a thing.
